Bradley 61 New Superintendent - Press Release (December 14, 2023)

The Bradley Board of Education is proud to announce that we have selected Christopher Hammond as the new Superintendent of the Bradley Elementary School District starting July 1st, 2024

Bradley 61 New Superintendent - Press Release

(December 14, 2023)

New Superintendent

On behalf of the Board of Education,

Upon the announcement that Dr. Scott Goselin would be retiring at the end of the 2023-24 school year, after serving 19 years as Superintendent of the Bradley Elementary School District, the Board of Education contracted with Connect Exec to do an executive search for his replacement. This process began in August 2023. Connect Exec received over 30 applications and brought the board 7 candidates for initial interviews. The board selected 3 candidates for secondary interviews. The candidates that we interviewed were incredibly talented and capable, making this a difficult decision.

After a very diligent search process we are proud to announce that we have selected Christopher Hammond as the new Superintendent of the Bradley Elementary School District starting July 1st, 2024.

Mr. Hammond has 24 years of experience in education, all at Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High school. He began his career as a Science Teacher for 7 years with 3 of those as Department Chair. He then, for the next 5 years, moved up to Assistant Principal. For the last 12 years he has been the Chief School Business Official at BBCHS.

Mr. Hammond earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Illinois State University and his Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Olivet Nazarene University. He completed his Chief School Business Official and his Superintendent endorsements back at Illinois State University.

Christopher Hammond has three children (Lydia, Easton, & Josie) with his wife Amanda and has made Kankakee County his home for the last 24 years. Throughout our search we stayed focused on someone that could lead our district academically but also keep our “family” atmosphere that we’re so proud of. We feel Mr. Hammond is the right person to continue this atmosphere while moving our district forward.

I am pleased to welcome Christopher Hammond and his family to our district and have him serve as our new superintendent. His passion for students and learning is obvious and we can’t wait to see what he can do for our district.

Sincerely,

Terrie Golwitzer, President

Bradley Board of Education, District 61
